Francis Chiu tweeted me this question: “Is that your opinion, Chester??”
It is not my opinion but I am tweeting to you more reliable answers from the Bible. I hope you must not offend to your faith that I am giving you some verses in the Holy Scripture about the rejection of women as bishops at the Church in England or any religious congregation.
Before that, let me discuss to you about in the Bible but I don’t tweet my opinion. It is written according to 2 Timothy 3:16, KJV:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
What if I don’t preach the Word of God or Christ’s Gospel? It is written in James 4:17, KJV:
“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
It is clear that I must preach the Bible here on the twitter because Paul said the Word of God is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. If I won’t preach the Word of God or Christ’s Gospel, I will commit sin and be condemned by God in judgment.
Here’s my question: Are those women permitted to be a leader of God’s church or ministry? Here are the “authentic” answers from God on the following verses of the Holy Scripture:
1) Isaiah 3:12, NASB:
“O My people! Their oppressors are children,
And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray
And confuse the direction of your paths.”
God disallowed those women, according to the prophet Isaiah, if women rule over the people can cause major setbacks in leadership in Israel. And;
2) 1 Timothy 2:11-13, KJV:
“(v. 11) Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. (v. 12) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (v. 13) For Adam was first formed, then Eve.”
In Greek Word: “ow-then-teh’-o” means to “dominate” or “usurp authority over.” Women are not authorized to be leaders of religious ministry or God’s Church.
Majority of the church leaders and preachers are men in different religious affiliations or denominations. Here’s the hierarchy structure according to 1 Corinthians 11:3, KJV:
“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”
To make easier: God is the head of Christ. Christ is the head of man. And the man is the head of woman.
Paul did not permit women to speak in church gatherings, but doesn’t mean they were not able to pray, to give testimony, or offer gifts publicly. He wrote instructions to organize meetings properly which were interrupted by chatting women. He said according to 1 Corinthians 14:33-35, 40 KJV:
“(v. 33) For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (v. 34) Let your women keep silence in churches; for it is not permitted to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. … (v. 40) Let all things be done decently and in order.”
The role of women is assisting as co-workers in the church or ministry. Here’s the example according to the letter of Paul to the Romans 16:1-4, NASB:
“(v. 1) I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: (v. 2) that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you: for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well. (v. 3) Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, (v. 4) who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles;”
Paul was assisted by two women like Phoebe and Prisca with her husband Aquila but they did not become leaders in the ministry.
It is clear in the Bible that women are not permitted by God to rule in the ministry because they are not allowed to usurp authority over men and may result into a huge leadership crisis. Only men are authorized to be leaders of the church or ministry. Women have the rights to give testimony and assist as co-workers but they must be submissive to their husbands.
Women can be leaders or rulers in politics, non-government organizations, and business EXCEPT in God’s Church or ministry because it is prohibited by God’s law in the Bible. Woe for the men if women will dominate God’s ministry or church!
I am reading the Bible and applying it as instructions for everyone.
That’s the answer from the Bible and not my opinion.
