Hello! I am blogging the matters of faith about debate in this dispensation. I am still a member of the Catholic group called “Legion of Mary” at the Presentation of Child Jesus Parish in BF Homes Paranaque but my senior elders on my praesidium told me if I am debating a non-Catholic or a non-Christian is considered a sin. I apologize for my co-members of the said praesidium that they did not deeply and fully understand about the meaning of sin.
I would like to define “sin” according to I John 3:4 in King James Version: “Whosoever commiteth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
Sin comes from the Greek word: hamartia (ham-ar-tee’-ah) meaning offense or sin. For example: I was turning left on the street while driving my car but I ignored the ONE WAY sign. Then the traffic enforcer caught and apprehended that I strongly violated the standard traffic rules and regulations on the road. I obtained the ticket and paid the fine to the bank. Likewise, in the spiritual manner, you violated God’s Law in the scriptures that you are committing murder, adultery, et cetera instead to repent – you committed sin to the Almighty God in heaven.
If someone will ask the question: “Is debate considered a sin?” In the Old Testament times the Lord commanded to the people of Israel to reason together due to their rebellion and sins. It’s written in Isaiah 1:18 (KJV): “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
The word “reason” was based from the Hebrew word: yaw-kakh’ meaning to be right (that is, correct); reciprocally to argue; causatively to decide, justify or convict: – appoint, argue, chasten, convince, correct (-ion), daysman, dispute, judge, maintain, plead, reason (together), rebuke, reprove (-r), surely, in any wise.
In New Testament, Stephen fought with his opponents according to Acts 6:9 in New Revised Standard Version: “Then some of those who belonged to the synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called), Cyrenian, Alexandrians, and others of those from Cilicia and Asia, stood up and argued with Stephen.” Stephen was the first martyr who stoned to death and saw Jesus was standing on the right hand of God (Acts 7:55).
Paul also disputed with the enemies of faith but they wanted to put him to death. It’s written in Acts 9:29 (KJV): “And he spake boldly in the name of Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.”
What is the biggest reason to debate the adversaries of faith like what happened to Paul and Stephen? In II Corinthians 10:4-5 (KJV): “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
This was so obvious Paul said that the weapons of warfare are not personal or human but by divine power to destroy strongholds and to cast down imaginations (in other words arguments or wrong concepts/teachings of faith too). He pulls down those behind proud against the knowledge of God and captures every thought to the obedience of Christ.
Who are those people behind building the strongholds to rebuke or to destroy them according to Paul? It is written in Ephesians 6:12 in Today New International Version: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Those rulers and authorities (i.e., preachers) in their own church violate or disobey God’s Law. They continue to preach deceptions through merchandizing God’s Word.
Those rulers and authorities commit sin because they ignored each law in the Scriptures. For example, they did not teach to their congregation including the women about wearing the modest apparel according to I Timothy 2:9 (KJV): “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;” If the leaders without God’s admonition due to their dark minds and hearts, they are still liable on judgment day filled with God’s wrath due to their heaviest sins.
God commanded us to reason out and to prove your truth to the assembly what is right or wrong not to accumulate sin. However, debate is not considered a sin because we must defend God’s Word and the Words of the Lord Jesus against the growing oppositions of faith in our times. Without debate, the sins of the people in this world will grow like sprouting mushrooms but we must be weeded out by preaching the word with or without season, reproving, rebuking, exhorting with all patience and doctrine (II Timothy 4:2).
A MESSAGE FOR KELLY MISA
I disputed with Kelly Misa because she refused to accept God’s Word through cell phone text messaging 2 years ago. Her statement replied: “You don’t have to talk to people through God’s verses there’s a proper time and place for that don’t use the words from the bible to be able to somehow connect with people. Try to express your feelings with your own words, interact properly now if you don’t know how to converse that’s a big problem of yours psycho! People will think you’re nuts or crazy! Get real jerk!!!(sic)”
Kelly is still growing her opposition to the Lord. She cursed me the words f*** *** nine times in text. She said to me, “Get out on my face, low life!” I replied her, “Me, low life? High faith! You, high life? Low faith!” She lost the argument to me because I was filled by the Spirit of God against her. She’s now a co-host and mainstay of the daily local noontime variety show on ABS-CBN, “Wowowee.” She’s getting married to her long-time fiancée but how will she teach children to give bread or snake without God’s admonition? I pray for Kelly Misa not to be ignorant in God’s Word but I leave everything to the Lord for herself, her future husband, and for future children.
I have a message to Kelly Misa: “You must always pray contemplatively at all perilous times. Now you’re in show business, resist all forms of temptations but pray always. Browse the verses of the Bible, don’t cease to read it, to meditate it and to memorize it. Remember, the verses of the Bible are like bullets that you load it to your heart and mind not for high powered ammunitions or firearms. The Bible is the mother of all love letters from the Lord. I am migrating to Canada soon with a happy heart. I spend my new life in Canada that God will give me a beautiful woman to be my wife soon. Kelly, be kind to your future husband, parents, friends, and people who love you as a co-host of the show. God bless and take care.”
