Ancient writers were writing by using papyrus and feather pen to dip its tip to the ink. Others are using by typewriters and computers. And now, we enter the 21st century of the internet age technology. Amateur and professional writers are using by blog through the internet that you may enhance or modify your writing skills and change your font styles. Now, what is a blog?
The word “blog” is an acronnym of “Web log.” A blog is managed by the independent internet writers with established portals of commentary, descriptions of circumstances, or other entities such as state-of-the-art designs or animated visuals. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain and add content to a blog (wikepedia.org).
According to wikepidia.org, “many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web Pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog) videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) which are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging, one which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technocrati was tracking more than 112 million blogs. With the advent of video blogging, the word blog has taken on an even looser meaning — that of any bit of media wherein the subject expresses his opinion or simply talks about something.”
For me, writing an English blog is a must. In my opinion, a cautious blog writer must check his/her consistencies of writing i.e., grammar, punctuation, spelling, correct usage of vocabularies and organized thoughts. I don’t neglect the conventional teachings in English since I was studying in elementary, high school, and college. I don’t also allow typing shortcuts like the common text/cyber messages on your mobile phones. I hate to write an English carabao like the comedian host on a local top-rated noontime variety show.
Writing a blog is not just for a formal writing, although for an informal writing. I have a freedom to write here on a wordpress blog not too personal, political, or indirect but readers and internet surfers will understand writer’s thoughts if they’re interested or not. I have a secret to all blog writers must read more English books, magazines or here in the internet. Be not afraid to practice writing through drafts with perseverance before finalizing or publishing it in your blog.
